Children's Privacy Notice.

Last updated: September 2026

Who this notice covers.

This notice explains how Global Educational Organization (GEO) handles personal information that relates to children under the age of 18. It is a separate document from GEO's general Privacy Policy and should be read alongside it.

What GEO collects before enrollment — and from whom.

Before a child is enrolled, GEO collects information only from a parent or guardian, never directly from the child. We do not ask for a child's name, date of birth, image, or any information that identifies the child. The waitlist form collects: the parent or guardian's name; their email address; their WhatsApp number (optional); their country of residence; the grade their child will enter in 2027/2028; and how they heard about GEO. GEO does not hold a child's name, age or date of birth until a parental-consent process has been completed.

What GEO will collect after enrollment.

After enrollment begins, GEO will collect educational records for each student, including: the student's name and grade; lesson records and work submitted; assessment scores and grades; progress records; and records of any reported technical or welfare concern. These records are created and held for the student, under the parent or guardian's account.

Who receives personal information.

The following parties receive personal information relating to students and their families:

GEO's staff and academic coaches — to plan and deliver teaching.

Microsoft (email infrastructure via Outlook) — for communication.

Resend (transactional email) — to send enrollment confirmations and school communications.

Brevo (email marketing) — for waitlist communications. Families may unsubscribe at any time.

Vercel (hosting) — our servers run on Vercel's infrastructure.

No student data is sold to third parties. No data is shared with advertisers.

Retention schedule.

Waitlist data (pre-enrollment): retained until the 2027/2028 school year opens. If a family does not proceed to enrollment, waitlist data is deleted within 90 days of the enrollment deadline.

Enrollment and educational records: retained for the duration of enrollment and for 5 years after the student's last active school year, then deleted.

Marketing communications consent: retained until the family unsubscribes or requests deletion, then removed within 30 days.

Contact form submissions: retained for 12 months, then deleted.

Any recording made during an examination: deleted within 30 days of the examination, unless there is a specific disclosed reason to retain it longer.

Parental rights.

Parents and guardians may, at any time: request access to all information GEO holds about their family; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of all information (subject to legal retention obligations); object to processing for marketing purposes; and withdraw consent given at sign-up.

To exercise any of these rights, write to geo.edtech@outlook.com with the subject line "Privacy request".

COPPA and applicable law.

GEO is a United States school and is subject to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its 2024 amendments. GEO does not collect personal information directly from children under 13. Where a child under 13 is enrolled, all account management is conducted through the parent or guardian. GEO also complies with applicable data protection laws in the countries where it operates, including POPIA (South Africa) and PIPEDA (Canada) where relevant.

GEO does not offer its service to residents of the European Union or European Economic Area.
